Travelodge's discounting is simple and codeless: its own hotel-deals page, sale windows ("rooms from…" events) and Saver rates. The only genuine codes are a 5% student code (valid on all hotels, Flex and Saver rates) and the Blue Light Card route. Cashback exists — 2.1% on the ex-VAT price via TopCashback — but with two honest caveats: UK hotels only (Ireland and Spain are excluded) and it's slow, with members reporting payouts taking many months. Here's the realistic saving on a Travelodge stay.

A £120 two-night stay earns about £2.10. Book a Saver rate in a sale window and you'll save more in one click than cashback pays all year — so treat the 2.1% as a habit, not a strategy.

Code vs cashback vs Blue Light

• Student 5% on £120 → £6 now. It's a code: unless listed on TopCashback, using it voids the £2.10. Take the 5%.
• Blue Light route → compare its saving with 2.1%; BLC wins.
• No discount available? Book the Saver rate via TopCashback and accept a long wait for ~2%.

Compared with Premier Inn — 3% cashback, and discounts as selectable rate options that stack with it — Travelodge is the lower-cashback budget chain. For breaks abroad, my Hotels.com and Expedia rows at 8–12% are a different league.
