Yes, Expedia gives cashback — and my receipt shows how good it can be: a £247.21 booking in March returned £27.19, an 11% rate. But the same site pays just 1% on flights. Where you put the click matters more than the coupon, so here's how to book travel through cashback the right way round.

Expedia cashback rates right now

TopCashback's live Expedia listing:

Booking type Cashback
Hotels — Los Angeles (exclusive) 10%
Hotels — everywhere else 8%
Transfers, shuttles & experiences 10%
Car hire 5.5%
Packages (flight + hotel) 3.5%
Flights 1%

Quidco's Expedia rate is also "up to 10%" with flights at 1%. My March booking paid 11% because hotel rates were boosted that week — the 8% standard rate is still one of the strongest in UK travel.

The travel-booking order that maximises cashback

The trap most people fall into is booking a package or a flight through Expedia because it feels convenient — and collecting 1–3.5%. Split it instead:

  1. Hotel via Expedia through cashback (8–10%). On a £500 hotel that's £40+.
  2. Flight direct with the airline, also through cashback where the airline is listed — I've had 5% on Qatar Airways this way (Qatar don't discount, so the cashback is the only saving you'll get on them), and even a budget aggregator like Kiwi.com paid me 3% (£7.24 on £230.26).
  3. Car hire through whichever site pays more that week — Expedia's 5.5% is competitive but not always the top.
Kiwi.com flights: £230.26 → £7.24 (3%). Every travel line in my account is a click-through.

Same trip, two or three clicks, and the cashback roughly triples versus a single package booking.

Keeping travel cashback from disappearing

  • Book and pay in one session — start on the cashback site, click through, complete the booking without detours.
  • Expect the wait. Travel cashback confirms after you travel, so a booking for next summer pays out next autumn. Mine sat pending for a while before confirming; details in my payout-times guide.
  • Member Prices and app deals stack; third-party "20% off Expedia" codes usually don't exist in the form advertised — see the FAQ.

FAQ — real questions people ask Google

What is the 15% discount code for Expedia? There isn't a general public 15% code. Expedia's discounts come as Member Prices (log in) and app-only deals, typically 10%+ on selected hotels. Those stack with cashback — the 8–10% hotel rate on top is where the bigger saving is.

Does Expedia give cash back? Yes, via cashback sites: 8% on most hotels (10% on some), 5.5% on car hire, 3.5% on packages and 1% on flights through TopCashback. My hotel booking paid 11% during a boosted week — £27.19 on £247.21.

Is there an Expedia discount code for 20% off? Codes advertised at 20% are almost always Member Prices or seasonal app promos repackaged. Log in for Member Prices, book through a cashback site, and you'll typically beat any "code" that's floating around.

Does Expedia have a 20% discount? On specific hotels during sales, Member Prices can reach 20%+ — but it's per property, not sitewide. Treat it as a bonus when you see it, and always add cashback on top.
