A third of everything TopCashback has ever paid me came from one link. Not shopping, not switching, not deal-hunting: 33 people signed up through my referral link, worth £835 completed and another £295 pending. This page is the exact playbook — plus the fine print that decides whether your bonus actually lands.

What the referral scheme pays right now

Checked 25 September 2026. Refer & Earn pays £20 per referral for Plus members and £15 on the free Classic tier. Your friend gets a £25 sign-up bonus. This promo ends 10:00 on 29 September 2026 — after that the rates almost certainly move, so check the live page rather than trusting this box.

Read that again, because it is unusual: right now the person you refer gets more than you do. £25 to them, £20 to you. For most of the last three years it was the other way round. If you have been sitting on the link waiting for a good window to send it, this is a better week to be the friend than the referrer — and it is a genuinely easy sell, because you are handing someone £25 and taking less than that yourself.

The rule that actually decides if you get paid

Your friend signing up earns you nothing by itself. The bonus completes when your referral earns £10 of cashback, and it becomes withdrawable once their cashback reaches approved status.

The window on that has tightened, and it is the most important change here. Earlier offers gave the referral 1,095 days — three years — to clear that £10. The current one states 180 days. That turns a "they'll get round to it eventually" bonus into one with a deadline, and it makes the method below the whole game rather than a nice-to-have: refer someone who is about to spend, not someone who might. You can watch each one move through statuses in your account — mine show "Signed up" → "In progress" → "Complete".

How I got 33 people (without being that guy)

I didn't blast a link at strangers. Every one of my 33 came from the same move: when someone I know mentioned a money moment, I sent the link with the reason attached. Renewing car insurance. How much do you get for a referral bonus? Right now (25 September 2026): £20 per completed referral for Plus members, £15 for Classic — and the person you refer gets £25, which is more than you get. Across my 33 referrals since 2023 the per-head bonus has ranged £15–£40 depending on the promo running, so £20 is at the lower end of normal.

Why isn't my TopCashback referral bonus showing up in my account? Usually one of three reasons, in order of likelihood: your friend hasn't earned £10 cashback yet (the completion condition, and on the current offer they have 180 days to do it), they signed up without using your link (unfixable afterwards — the link must be the entry point), or their cashback hasn't reached approved status yet. My referrals show as "Signed up" until the £10 threshold, then flip to "Complete".

Is it worth using TopCashback just for referrals? It's the single best £-per-minute feature on the site — £835 of my £1,636 came from it. But it works because I genuinely use the platform; referred friends can tell the difference.
