eBay is one of the few marketplaces where "discount code" means something official: eBay UK publishes coupon terms pages for each code — the current one being circulated, DISCOVER15, is entered at checkout, capped at £50 off per redemption and limited to 30 redemptions. The catch is that eBay coupons are usually time-limited and restricted to eligible items, sellers or buyers. Cashback runs alongside: up to 3% via TopCashback on standard eBay (it varies), and up to 10% on eBay Live. Here's how they fit.

Coupon + cashback: the sums

• £200 item, DISCOVER15-type 15% coupon applies: £30 off now (cap £50). eBay's own coupons are the kind TopCashback listings usually acknowledge — check the approved-codes box; if listed, add 3% (£5).
• Coupon doesn't apply (most baskets): cashback is the only lever — ~£5 on £200 at 3%.
• eBay Live purchase: up to 10% — the best eBay cashback going, for a narrow slice of buying.

The stack

1. Check eBay's coupons pages for a live official code and its eligibility.
2. Open TopCashback's eBay listing: read the category table and approved codes.
3. Click through TopCashback to eBay; find the item in that session.
4. Apply the coupon at checkout if prompted and eligible.
5. Pay by card/PayPal as the listing allows; keep the order confirmation.
