Here's a fact from my own dashboard: more than half of everything TopCashback has ever paid me — £835 out of £1,636 — required no shopping at all. No deal-hunting, no coupon tabs, no remembering anything. It came from a handful of one-time set-ups that kept paying on their own.
This is the lazy person's guide to how to use TopCashback for the same result: five moves, mostly done once, that turn the platform into background income.
Affiliate disclosure: sign-up links here are referral links — free for you, they fund this site's testing.
1. Put your referral link where you already talk to people (my £835 trick)
The single laziest money on the platform. TopCashback pays £25 per person you refer (I've watched the bonus swing between £15 and £40 across promos since 2023), and the person you refer gets a bonus too — right now £10 — so you're doing them a favour, not spamming them.
I've referred 33 people: £835 completed, another £295 pending. The method was embarrassingly simple — when someone I knew mentioned insurance renewals, a big purchase, or sending money home, I sent the link I genuinely use. That's it. Put it in your WhatsApp group when relevant, your bio if you like. One good referral pays more than a year of 1% supermarket cashback.

2. Install the browser extension once, never think again
The TopCashback browser extension does the remembering for you: land on a retailer's site and it pops a "cashback available — activate" notice. Click, carry on. This is how "check TopCashback first" becomes zero effort instead of a habit you'll abandon by Tuesday.
One honest note from my history: clean tracking still matters. Let it activate, finish checkout in the same session, and don't let an ad-blocker wrestle it. My 123-for-123 tracking record comes from boring click hygiene.
3. Route your renewals — the money was leaving anyway
Nothing here is shopping; it's redirecting admin you're forced to do annually:
- Energy: my British Gas → Fuse switch got me better rates plus £22
- Mobile: Three paid me £120 for a switch — my biggest single bounty ever
- Car insurance: £45 on top of the premium I was paying anyway
- Broadband: rates regularly worth £50+ (mine's on the list for renewal)
Set a calendar reminder for each renewal date with one line: "check TopCashback first." That's the entire system. The switch-bounty playbook lists what each category typically pays.
4. Withdraw as gift cards for brands you already buy — the bonus stacks itself
When you cash out, taking a gift card instead of a bank transfer adds a bonus — advertised up to 5%. Across my eight real redemptions it came out at 2–3% (a £25.00 payout became a £25.75 Farmfoods card; £20.11 became £20.51 at Amazon). It's the same money you were withdrawing anyway, slightly enlarged, for one different click at payout time.
Since Amazon pays no cashback to anyone, this is also quietly the only "Amazon discount" that exists: the gift-card tricks explained.
5. Let the money come to you: one glance a month
My entire ongoing "effort" is a monthly two-minute ritual: open dashboard → withdraw whatever's payable → skim the rotating 100%+ offers in case a free-VPN-style window is open (that habit got me a free VPN year, free antivirus, and a meal box that paid me £1.50). Then close the tab.
That's the whole machine. Set up once, glance monthly, and the dashboard grows in the background — mine reached £1,636.17 in under three years mostly on autopilot.
→ Start with the sign-up bonus — then do steps 1 and 2 today and let the rest happen at your next renewal.
FAQ — real questions people ask Google
Is it worth using TopCashback? On autopilot alone, my account earned more than £500/year. If you pay UK bills and renew contracts, it's worth it even if you never once go shopping for the sake of cashback.
Does TopCashback charge a fee? The Classic tier is free forever. There's an optional Plus tier at £5/year (taken from your earnings) — my verdict on whether it's worth it.
Can you claim cashback after purchase on TopCashback? Not for a normal missed click — the click-through has to come first, which is exactly why the extension matters. If a tracked purchase goes missing afterwards, you can file a missing-cashback claim; I've filed five — here's how they went.
How does TopCashback make money? Retailers pay it a commission for delivering customers; it passes most of that to you and keeps the difference (plus optional Plus fees and some advertising). You're the product being delivered — which, for once, is a deal that favours you.
