Booking.com Cashback Is Gone From TopCashback — Here's How I Still Get 8–12% Back on Hotels

Nearly 800 people a month search "Booking.com cashback", and the answer has changed: Booking.com no longer offers cashback through TopCashback. Its listing now says so in plain words — "no longer offering cashback, but you can still save with great alternatives". So if you've been clicking through expecting a percentage back on your next stay, nothing will track. Here's what happened, what still works, and how I get 8–12% back on the very same hotels by booking them elsewhere — including a real 11% receipt.

The straight answer: does Booking.com do cashback?

Not via the UK's main cashback sites any more. TopCashback's Booking.com page has switched to an "alternatives" page, and the gift-card route doesn't exist for Booking.com either (there's no UK Booking.com gift card to buy at a discount). What Booking.com does offer is its own Genius loyalty programme — 10–20% off selected stays once you reach the levels — which is a discount, not cashback, and applies only to properties that opt in.

That leaves a simple truth for money-minded travellers: the same hotel is usually on four or five booking sites at near-identical prices, and only some of them pay you.

What I do instead: book the same room where it pays

How to use this in 60 seconds: find the hotel on Booking.com if that's where you like to search, then check the same property on Hotels.com or Expedia. Prices are typically within a pound or two — occasionally Booking.com is cheaper by less than the cashback is worth. Book it on the site that pays, through TopCashback, logged in for member prices. Worked example: a £400 stay. Booking.com with a Genius Level 1 discount (10%) → £360, no cashback. Hotels.com at a similar Member Price → £360, then 12% cashback → £43 back, plus One Key credit. Same room, £43 difference.

When Booking.com still wins

• Genius Level 2–3 perks (free breakfast, upgrades) on a property you already have Genius status for.
• A price gap larger than the cashback — rare, but check.
• Free-cancellation flexibility on a property the others only offer prepaid — but note prepaid is what makes cashback reliable elsewhere.

Booking.com discounts that do exist

• Genius: automatic once you've completed a couple of stays; levels unlock larger discounts and perks.
• Booking.com discount codes (£40 off etc.): these are almost always Genius offers, app-only deals or expired partner promotions repackaged by coupon sites; there is no general public £40 code.
• NHS / Blue Light: Booking.com doesn't run an NHS scheme; NHS staff get further with Hotels.com/Expedia cashback plus any Blue Light hotel offers.

FAQ — real questions people ask Google

Does Booking.com do cashback? Not through the main UK cashback sites any more — TopCashback's listing states Booking.com is no longer offering cashback. Its Genius programme gives discounts on selected stays instead. To get cashback, book the same hotel on Hotels.com (12%), Expedia (8%), Agoda (7%) or the chain's own site.

Does Booking.com offer cashback on TopCashback? No — the TopCashback Booking.com page now redirects you to alternatives. Any old guide telling you to click through TopCashback to Booking.com is out of date.

Is there a Booking.com discount code for £40 off? Not a genuine public one. "£40 off" claims are Genius discounts, app-only deals or expired promotions. The reliable saving on the same hotel is booking it on a site that pays 8–12% cashback.

Does Booking.com do an NHS discount? No dedicated NHS scheme. NHS staff save more by combining Blue Light Card hotel offers with cashback on Hotels.com or Expedia.
