Halfords Discount Code: Blue Light Card, Motoring Club Perks — and Why Cashback Is Just 1–2.6% (Tyres Pay Most)

Halfords is a "20% off" search with a 1% reality. The coupon-site headlines recycle old event codes; the discounts that reliably work are Blue Light Card (online and in store), the free Halfords Motoring Club, and whatever Halfords itself lists in its help-centre discount-codes section. Cashback is thin — about 1% on retail, servicing and MOTs, 1.3% on Autocentre tyres, 2.6% on Mobile Expert tyres — so this page is mostly about not being misled.

Disclosure: cashback links here are my referral links — free for you (you get a £10 bonus). My car-parts receipt is Euro Car Parts, not Halfords; Halfords rates are as listed on the day.

Halfords discounts that actually work

Halfords' own discount codes Listed in its help centre when live The source of truth for codes

Cashback at Halfords — by service

Purchase TopCashback
Retail, services, repairs, MOT 1.05%
Halfords Autocentre tyres 1.31%
Halfords Mobile Expert tyres 2.62%
Listing headline up to 2.5%

A £300 set of tyres fitted at home via Mobile Expert earns about £7.86; the same spend on a bike earns about £3.15; an MOT at ~£55 earns 58p. Real, but small — click through as a habit, never as a decision.

Code vs cashback vs Blue Light

  • Blue Light holder: use the BLC discount. It's a code/card route, so it usually won't combine with cashback — and it's bigger than 1–2.6%.
  • Motoring Club member offers are account-based, not codes — cashback should track alongside them (check the listing's exclusions).
  • Buying parts? Compare with my Euro Car Parts experience — the parts specialist stacks bigger codes with higher cashback, so Halfords is often the convenience choice, not the cheapest.

The stack

  1. Join the Motoring Club (free) for member pricing and checks.
  2. Click through TopCashback to Halfords; for tyres, pick the Mobile Expert route if the 2.6% rate applies to your booking.
  3. No unapproved codes; pay by card in the same session.
  4. Blue Light holders: compare the BLC saving with cashback and pick the bigger (almost always BLC).

FAQ — real questions people ask Google

Is there a 20% discount code for Halfords? Not a standing one. Twenty-percent codes appear in Halfords events and targeted emails; coupon-site 20% listings are usually expired. Blue Light Card and Motoring Club offers are the reliable discounts.

What is the GIMME10 promo code? A generic 10% code that circulates for many retailers. It isn't a Halfords code; using it (if accepted) would void cashback as unapproved.

Is there a Halfords promo code for 10% off? Occasionally via Halfords' own promotions (check its help-centre discount-codes section). Blue Light Card is the dependable equivalent for eligible members.

Can I use a Blue Light Card at Halfords? Yes — Blue Light Card lists a Halfords discount usable online and in store.
