The first of a standing feature: every month, every cashback transaction from my account, exactly as it appears — pending, confirmed, declined, the lot. No "up to", no best case. Just what one household's normal spending produced. August 2026 was a modest month with one genuinely delightful line in it.

*Airwallex tracked at £0 — a sign-up that logged but carried no cashback value. I include these because they're part of the real picture.
The month in three lines
The star: Gousto paid me to eat. A first box costing £18.50 tracked at £20.00 — and confirmed within four days, one of the fastest confirmations I've ever had. Net: a week of dinners, delivered, and £1.50 profit. This is the "retailer intro offer + new-customer cashback" stack I now run on every meal kit (the HelloFresh and Abel & Cole versions followed in September).
The quiet profit plays: two eSIMs for roughly £7 total, paying back £19.60. The Uswitch eSIM (£3.68 → £12.60) and a Mozillion eSIM (£3.50 → £7.00) — buy a month of data you'll actually use, collect more than you paid. Both pending; SIM cashback is slow (my Uswitch estimate is 26 weeks), so these are Christmas money, not September money.
The reality check: Argos. Two small orders, £3.95 back combined — plus the familiar duplicate line that shows as "declined". The system logged one purchase twice and cancelled the copy; the real orders are pending normally. It looks alarming in the declined column and costs nothing.
Business spend counts too
Two lines most people don't think of as cashback territory: Meta Ads. I run ad campaigns for my business and route the spend through TopCashback — £394 of August ad spend tracked £23.42. Not life-changing, but it's on money that was leaving the account anyway. If you're self-employed, check your recurring business tools; several pay cashback and nobody tells you.
What August is worth once it lands
£66.97 tracked, £20 already confirmed. Realistically the SIMs and Meta lines confirm across autumn and the Argos pennies follow — so August should land at roughly £65 in the account by winter. Against a "normal" month of household spending with no extra effort beyond clicking through first, I'll take it.
Running total since November 2023: £1,636.17. September's diary is already looking stronger — HelloFresh (£25) and Abel & Cole (£12) both tracked in the first week.
Every figure is from my own TopCashback earnings list (screenshot shown), verified 8 September 2026. Pending amounts may change on confirmation. The full three-year review has the long-run numbers.
